An experienced lawyer and medical law specialist, he has held diverse roles including consular officer, law firm founder, medical laser company director, and editor-in-chief, and currently serves as an external consultant for KST, focusing on ethical and legal aspects of transplantation.
He completed his law studies in 1986. He then held the position of consular officer at the Czechoslovak Embassy in Stockholm (1987) and editor-in-chief of the Czechoslovak Radio's traffic broadcast (1989). In 1992 he founded and headed a law firm and then worked at the British law firm McKenna & Co. Solicitors. He gained experience in medicine as a marketing and sales director in a medical laser company (1992 - 2004). He was editor-in-chief of the international specialist journal Laser Partner and executive director of the European Medical Laser Association (2005 - 2012). He is a member of the Czech Society of Medical Law. He specializes in quality systems in medicine. He publishes and lectures on ethical and legal aspects of transplantation.
